Q. What are the information literacy digital badges?

Digital badges are a form of micro-credentials that acknowledge learning both in traditional college courses and in informal settings like campus lectures, workshops, and academic support programs.

The digital badge program at Delaware County Community College recognizes students' active participation our information literacy workshops, which are available online, in-person, or via simulcast. When they earn badges, students can display them on sites likeCredly, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook. Anyone viewing a student's profile will be able to see the badge. Each badge includes information detailing a description of the workshop attended and the criteria used by Library Services to award the badge.
