Answer
Beginning December 16, 2022, students who pass Library Services tutorials in Canvas will be awarded badges. A passing grade is a 70%.
Students can submit badges for credit either as:
- a unique link
- as a certificate pdf or print-out. (link to instructions)
Badges and their certificates verify that the student passed the quiz with a 70% or higher. They do not display a grade.
This new system means that students are responsible for sharing their badge with their instructors as evidence of passing a Canvas tutorial from Library Services.
Unique link:
Badge links will display the name of the quiz and the student’s email address. The student’s name will not be displayed; only their email address will appear.

Badge certificate:
A certificate will appear either as a print-out or PDF file. It will display the name of the quiz, the student’s name and email address, and the date the badge was awarded.
